New gardening venture joins growing Fordmore community

A new gardening and floristry school focused on nature, learning and creativity has joined our thriving community at Fordmore Farm Shop.

The Garden at the Pond is offering a series of hands-on workshops and seasonal experiences at the site, giving visitors the chance to learn, reconnect with nature and develop new skills. The arrival of The Garden at the Pond marks the latest addition to our expanding line-up of independent businesses, strengthening our position as a destination for food, lifestyle and wellbeing in Mid Devon. The Garden at the Pond has been established to offer seasonal workshops, corporate days, courses and events designed to ‘bring people together through nature, creativity and shared experience’.

It features a purpose-built classroom, greenhouse and large garden featuring wildflowers, herbs and seasonal planting. It has been established by a team of three - Olly Forster, Tina Young and Harriet Hamilton. RHS trained Olly brings a depth of knowledge in horticulture and garden design, with experience working across a range of projects and spaces. Tina, who has worked with many established wedding venues, brings a wealth of experience in floristry and event styling. Harriet leads the brand, creative and marketing direction of The Garden at the Pond.

Tom Harradine, director of Fordmore, said: “We’re very pleased to welcome The Garden at the Pond to the site. It’s a fantastic fit with what we’re hoping to build here - a destination where people can shop, eat, learn, enjoy and spend time with friends and family.”

Olly Forster, founder of The Garden at the Pond, said: “The Garden at the Pond brings together horticulture, floristry and thoughtfully designed experiences, all shaped by the rhythm of the seasons. From workshops and courses to private events and gatherings, this is a space designed to feel calm, creative and connected to the land.”

“We’re really excited to see our vision become a reality and to join the fantastic community here at Fordmore Farm Shop and Café. We can’t wait to open our doors and welcome people here to our space.”
